Everybody has their own story and to some, stories come with a price.

Because of his powers, he has gone through a lot of hardships, have lost his wife and many others he held dear. He actually has a rather lengthy story line that one needs to research (or follow the whole comic series) to understand his quest to save the mutant-kind. The end doesn’t justify the means, of course. But that will be a debate for another day.
Magneto’s power over magnetism has gained him many mutant allies. He has also made it to many lists of super villains. In the real world, his popularity could surpass many other anti heroes’ out there. In deed, Magneto is one character any comic fan would not want to miss.
